Little elk hunter
« on: January 11, 2009, 08:21:12 PM »
Now that I am a picture posting guru, here is another one I have of my boy sneaking up on a herd of elk here by the house. He has heard too many of dad's hunting stories and watched too many hunting videos so figured he would try it himself. I was at work but his grandpa was going to take a picture of the elk but Cole had different ideas and ran home and got his bow and homemade arrow and my cow call and the hunt was on! I think the elk were more curious than anything of what this kid was trying to do squeaking on the call but they came in to about 30 yards before grandpa , who was standing on the edge of the field hollered and waved his arms and blew the stalk. Cole was disgusted with his city slicker grandpa cause the bulls were behind the cows and he was just waiting for a shot! We had a talk after that about momma cows and calves and the possibility that maybe he could have gotten stomped. Glad grandpa took the pic before he messed up the hunt.nwhunter

Ya I love the picture. Grandpa and grandma thought 9 years old was a little young to be doing that but I just laughed and said your never to young to learn to hunt. Plus he had Bucky the lab keeping a close eye on him!
